Questions owners ask us.
Don't see yours? Ask on the call, or write to hello@vcohost.com.
Do I still own my listing?
Yes. We're a co-host on your Airbnb and Vrbo listings. Your reviews and history stay on your account. If you leave, they leave with you.
How do I get paid?
The same way you do now. Airbnb and Vrbo pay you directly. We send a monthly invoice for our 10%.
Do you come to the house?
No, never. Your cleaner and your local contact handle anything on site. We handle everything else.
What happens when something breaks?
The guest tells us. We tell you or your local contact right away with what we know, so it's fixed before the next guest. We don't call vendors for you.
Will guests know they're talking to you?
Guests hear from a person, by name: you or Chad, your choice. Warm, personal and fast.
Can I still use my home?
Yes. Block your dates on the calendar like you do now.
Can I still answer guests myself?
You can. Most owners stop within a month.
What does 10% of net mean, exactly?
What lands in your bank account for a reservation, after the platform's fee, usually including the cleaning fee and not including taxes. 10% of that.
What's the $250 minimum for?
Software and staffing for your home cost the same whether or not your calendar is full. For most homes, 10% is well over $250 and the minimum never comes up.
Do you provide insurance?
No. Because guests book on your own Airbnb and Vrbo accounts, AirCover and Vrbo's host protections stay in place. We also ask every owner to carry a short-term rental policy, since most homeowner policies don't cover paid guests. We'll point you to a few insurers.
Where do you work?
Anywhere in the US.
Do you list my home on other sites?
We run Airbnb and Vrbo well, on your account. Your home also goes on our own booking site, stay.vcohost.com, at no cost to you, so guests can book you directly. Those bookings land on your calendar and pay out to your bank like any other.
How do I leave?
Tell us, remove us as co-host, and you're back in full control. You pay through the end of that month. If it's your first month and you're not happy, you pay nothing.
Get off the phone this month.
Tell us about your home. If it's a fit, we'll walk you through the rest on a short call. If you're not happy after your first month, you pay nothing and we remove ourselves as co-host.
